Long after E.B. White wrote, “With the right words, you can change the world,” but long before Abe Weissman was running around Manhattan shouting, “The written word can change the world!”—I knew that writing was my path to making a difference.
Ironically, I spent years avoiding writing as a career, even when I knew it was my true calling.
There were just so many interesting things I wanted to try before becoming a freelance copywriter.
Things like playing college basketball at Wichita State, and serving in the Peace Corps in Ukraine.
I wanted to work in healthcare with older adults, so I ran a home care agency. Along the way, I fell in love with business and earned my MBA.
Most recently, I have been a healthcare consultant writing and copyediting proposal responses and helping organizations improve their employees’ experiences.
Through everything, I learned that I am passionate about people and life. If you ask me, writing is pretty much always about both of those things.
And when I get to write for businesses with heart, purpose, and missions that matter? That is why I do what I do.
